This restaurant has a good amount of dishes that can be made vegetarian! They make a really good vegetarian chow mein and I sometimes like to get mine with their knife cut noodles so they're extra wide and chewy. They can also make their jampong/seafood soup noodles soupless and vegetarian on request!! Their hot and sour soup is one of my favorites EVER and they can make it vegetarian on request as well!!!!! There is one vegetarian dumpling and it's pretty good. The filling is made with egg, glass noodles, tofu, and wood ear mushrooms. Make sure to ask for minced garlic to make some delicious dipping sauce too. Unfortunately I don't think there are many vegan options tbh. Most of the staff speaks some English so if you don't speak Chinese you can def still get by with the good ol point and smile technique. My family and I have been coming here for years-literally 2 decades- and the quality, portions, and taste has not changed. Over the years I've seen the regular waitresses retire and newer ones take over and the service is definitely well above average for an authentic Chinese place. Whenever I'm feeling nostalgic, this is where I come to eat.

A friend introduced me to this spot during our recent food adventure outings. Grabbing lunch here definitely started the adventure on a high note! You'll find this Taiwanese and Northern Chinese style restaurant tucked away inside the collection of shops and eateries within the Ranch 99 plaza. It's a humble sized eatery serving up grand sized flavored, quality dishes. The brightly lit interior is as welcoming as the staff. The best dish that you have to get is their incredible House Chicken ($14.50 small / $17.50 large). A mound of succulent whole chicken is bathed in the most addictive sweet and tangy sauce. Like Thai jeow or hot honey, it's one of those sauces you could add to everything. I practically drank up the sauce by dunking all my bites into it. The cucumber slices and cilantro add a refreshing, crunchy element to it. Super good! The Green Onion Pancake ($7) was equally fantastic! Ultra thin, airy, flaky layers of crepe like dough, toasted to delicate crispness, dotted with bits of green onions inside. I like that it wasn't soggy or greasy. Again, dripping this into the house chicken sauce is a major game changer. Finally, we shared an order of steamed dumplings (around $11). Standard taste but still a goodie (especially in that sauce).

There dumplings are just so good and you can also get custard desserts around the corner. They are just so unbelievable at the 99 Ranch market. I also get the bamboo and chicken. It is such a great combo and the sauce is amazing.

This place has a mix of taiwanese and northern china dishes. We loved everything we ordered. We ordered leek dumplings and the inside already so flavorful and salty you dont need soy sauce for it. The chicken was cooked well and came out moist and juicy. We ordered the vermicelli noodle with pork and the hot and sour soup. These two dishes are both spicy but a different kind. The noodles seem like it has a tinge of mala spicy whereas the soup is spicy from white pepper spice that is usually added into this soup. They are both delicious and packed with flavor but I cant handle too much spicy. So much to maybe dismay I had to stop eating it for a bit to give my mouth a break. The mala spicy is like building a slow burning fire. The more you eat, the spicier it gets. We ordered fish fillets and the leek filled bread. The bread layer was thin and packed with a lot of filling they definitely didnt skimp. it was fried perfectly, so the thin layer wasn't too hard and had a slight crunch as I bit into it, but there wasn't any oil that usually comes with fried things. I think they did such a good job with this. The fish fillets were not overcooked or dry. They were moist. You could tell that the food was fresh. I give this place five out of five stars definitely recommend and my family loves it. We are coming back here again.
